This is the navy, embroidered reading of the model: the Martika Long Dress in modal, its mirror embroidery drawing geometric motifs across a deep blue ground. Each small mirror picks up the light as you walk, which is enough to animate a dark colour. The line falls to the ankle, supple, with no needless volume.
Modal, elasticated cuffs and pompom ties
The modal is light, faintly silky, and falls without breaking. The sleeves are long and gathered by an elastic at the wrist, which keeps them in place under a jacket. The neckline closes with pompom ties. The matching belt is included, and two pockets are set into the seams.
Wearing it in the cold months
Under a long open coat, belted at the waist with its own sash, it reads sharp: tall boots and opaque tights beneath. Another way round it: a heavy knit cardigan over the top, the elasticated cuffs pulled clear of the cardigan sleeves, and flat boots. Navy takes camel, ecru and burgundy without argument.

Care
A dry cleaner, and nothing else. The dry cleaning the house recommends is gentle on the embroidery threads, which a harsher treatment would eventually pull. Keep the piece on a wide hanger, out of the light. Avoid a thin hanger, which ends up marking the shoulders.
